About us
Many years ago, in 1991 to be precise, a young woman, a teacher, a mother, a wife, a daughter, had a dream. A dream to embark upon a journey to help working women leave their little ones at a place where they could learn and play in a safe environment.
Thus was born Prakrit, a daycare centre cum pre-school. The rest, as they say, is history, in the midst of the changing landscape of school education in Odisha, over the last three decades.
Armed with undying optimism and in the company of a small albeit growing team that relished every moment of this journey, Mrs Poly led Prakrit to become Mother’s Public School, which has since expanded to multiple campuses.
Today, Mother’s Public School has five campuses, and over 7000 students and is managed by a staff of 750 teachers and other professionals. And the journey continues. So does the joy!

Founder's Message
Mother’s Public School commenced in 1991 as a preschool in Prakrit with a strength of twenty students. Over the years, Mother’s Public School evolved into a Senior Secondary School with over 2000 students. Originally focused on providing a safe space for working mothers, it pioneered day-boarding in the city. Today, it offers a stimulating environment for pre-schoolers, blending creative learning with practical education. The school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded students has attracted attention statewide, emphasizing tradition, transferable skills, and holistic development.

“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known” Carl Sagan There is never any point in the life of a person when he can sit back and say -“there is nothing more to learn, I can relax with the comforting thought that the universe around me is an open book, I know it all”. Education is not just about the subjects that are learnt and taught in school. First, we all have to be on the same page: children, teachers and parents have to understand education is not restricted to lessons taught in the classroom from textbooks. Parents and teachers must encourage children to ask as many questions as they can, for it is wanting to know that will result in actually getting to know. At Mothers’ each child is accepted and appreciated for his/her uniqueness. I am aware of the tremendous opportunity given to us to create your child’s educational life. We have the opportunity to instil a love of learning that can be nurtured and empowered to grow into something truly beautiful. Our school endeavours to provide children with opportunities to grow holistically and explore the limitless possibilities in their quest for knowledge; where teaching is a pleasure and learning is a joy; where learning and excelling is a passion and culture and values have a pre-eminent place. “Imagination is more important than knowledge.
